As the local air fills with excitement, Mesa is gearing up for one of its most anticipated events of the year—the Mesa Sprint Triathlon, happening Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Skyline Aquatic Center, 845 S. Crismon Rd.

What Makes the Mesa Sprint Triathlon Special?

This community-focused race combines fun, fitness, and fundraising—every participant helps support learn-to-swim and summer recreation programs in Mesa, especially aiding underprivileged youth. Every finisher earns a custom medal, and all registrants receive a race shirt (register before September 1st to guarantee yours).

Your 4-Week Sprint Triathlon Training Blueprint

If you’re signing up with a month to go, here’s how to train smart and finish strong:

1. Train Each Sport Weekly

Aim for 2–3 sessions per week each for swimming, biking, and running. Add a weekly “brick” workout—bike followed by a short run—to mimic race conditions.

2. Focus Where You Struggle

If you’re weakest in the water, dedicate more time there. Even 20-minute focused swims help build confidence and technique.

3. Practice Transitions

Lay out your gear and rehearse T1 (swim to bike) and T2 (bike to run). Time yourself and refine your setup to make it smoother.

4. Test Gear Early

Race-day isn’t the time to try new goggles or bike shoes. Train in what you’ll use.

5. Don’t Forget to Rest

Schedule at least one full day off per week. Your muscles need it to recover and strengthen.

6. Try a Mini Tri

About a week before race day, do a short swim–bike–run sequence to simulate the event and build confidence.

7. Dial in Nutrition

Hydrate well throughout the day. For the race itself, light carbs before the start and water/electrolytes during the bike are usually enough for most.
