In the heart of Apache Junction, Reptile Junction stands as a unique establishment that has captured the hearts of reptile and exotic animal enthusiasts. Previously known as Hold Fast Reptiles and Exotics, this hub for pet lovers, rescuers, and educators is not just a pet store—it’s a haven with a rich history, a vital mission, and a team deeply committed to animal welfare.

A Reptilian Beginning Six years ago, Shane Weakly opened Hold Fast Reptiles and Exotics, marking the genesis of what would become Reptile Junction. In October 2021, a dedicated family took ownership, reinvigorating the establishment with a new name that resonated with its Apache Junction location. Despite the transition, the spirit of Hold Fast Reptiles and Exotics lives on through the original team, including Damon, Brandan, Kristal, and others who have joined the mission along the way.

More Than Just a Pet Store Reptile Junction extends beyond the traditional pet store model, embracing a commitment to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. Collaborating with Animal Control and Game and Fish, the shop actively engages with the community through educational programs. This includes partnerships with institutions like the Lost Dutchman State Park, AZ Museum of Natural History, and Apache Junction Parks and Recreation.

Adding an exciting layer to their community involvement, Reptile Junction recently participated in the Day of The Cowboy fundraiser at Gold Canyon Golf Resort. Attendees, including families, had the pleasure of holding a 60lb anaconda and meeting Jeremy, the Asian Water Monitor—the second-largest lizard in the world.

Passion for Animal Welfare At Reptile Junction, a shared passion unites the team in their mission to help people understand and care for the diverse range of animals housed in the shop. Guiding customers to provide safe, humane, and comfortable environments for their pets is a priority. Recognizing the unique needs and preferences of each animal, Reptile Junction aims to foster meaningful and healthy relationships between caretakers and their animal companions.

Braving the Wild The team at Reptile Junction has faced thrilling and sometimes dangerous encounters, from rattlesnake bites to monitor lizard bites. Yet, these experiences pale in comparison to the fear wild animals feel when humans encroach on their natural habitats.

A Team Effort Caring for a wide range of reptiles and exotics is a formidable task, and Reptile Junction tackles it with grace. A dedicated team of professionals works collaboratively and independently to ensure the welfare of these animals. The team’s observant and responsive approach allows them to meet the needs and conditions of their diverse creatures.

A Personal Journey Each team member at Reptile Junction has taken a unique path to their shared passion, from childhood encounters with rattlesnakes to zookeeping experiences. These individual journeys have converged, bringing them to this one-of-a-kind haven for reptile and exotic animal lovers.

In conclusion, Reptile Junction AZ is more than just a pet store—it’s a place where passion, education, and animal welfare converge. Their commitment to helping animals and fostering a deep understanding of these unique creatures is truly remarkable. For those who appreciate the beauty and wonder of reptiles and exotics, Reptile Junction is a must-visit destination in the heart of Apache Junction.
